Bismark Agblengor Apologizes To Two Lecturers Over Voters’ Register List

Jean Mensa, EC Boss

One Bismark Agbelengor has rendered unqualified apologies to two lecturers of the Koforidua Technical University for “wrongly” including their names in a petition sent to the Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa.

The petition was sent by about 101 lecturers, calling on Mre Mensa to reconsider the decision to compile a new register for the December 7, 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The two lecturers are Professor Smile Dzisi and Dr Benjamin Kwofie.

The apologies followed a letter sent to
the Vice Chancellor of the Koforidua Technical University, by Dr. Kwofie who denied knowledge of the group, Concerned University Lecturers, Ghana.

Dr Kwofie also denied knowledge of the content of the letter sent to Mrs Mensa.

Dr Kwofie had in his letter asked the VC to probe the matter and write to the Chair of the Commission, “disassociating the institution and its innocent members from such an action”.

And in an apology letter to Dr Kwofie, Mr Agbelengor, who admitted “wrongly” adding the names of the lecturers to the list.

“I recognize that my failure to seek your prior approval was a grievous omission even though it was completely unintended,” he wrote.
