Bissue Is Best To Succeed Joe Ghartey

A cross-section of delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Essikado-Ketan constituency of the Western Region has maintained that Charles Onuawonto Bissue, a former Regional Secretary of the party is the right man to succeed Joe Ghartey as the next Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan.

The delegates, together with some market queens in the constituency therefore picked a nomination form for Charles Bissue to contest the NPP parliamentary primary in the constituency come January next year.

One of the delegates, Deborah Egyir, who is the Kojokrom-Nkansah Polling Station’s NPP Women’s Organizer explained, “Our decision to pick forms for Charles Bissue to contest was borne out of his compassion for humanity, empathy, and love”.

“He is passionate about our well-being and that of Esikado-Ketan Constituency. So picked the forms to let him know that we will assure him victory at the primaries and the parliamentary election come 2024”, she pointed out.

The market queens, traders, and some polling station executives as well as party faithfuls at the constituency managed to pay the fee of GH¢3,000.00 for the forms.

Last Saturday, Mr. Bissue, accompanied by hundreds of party supporters in the constituency submitted the nomination forms, the filling, and the development fees to the NPP Essikado-Ketan constituency office.

Charles Bissue stressed the need for a more experienced candidate with good track records like his to take the baton and lead Essikado-Ketan in parliament.

“The NDC closed the gap in the last elections and they feel they can win the seat this time. The Essikado-Ketan seat cannot be joked with. So we need someone with experience.”

“I am not downgrading anyone. But I believe you all know what I have done in the region. I worked with a team to maintain the majority for the NPP in the western region as the Regional Secretary”, he pointed out.

He said he believed that come January 27, 2024, the delegates would do him a favour by voting massively for him.

According to him, once he is voted for there will be a bigger responsibility on him, and therefore called on everyone to help him to succeed.

The Constituency Chairman of the party, Frederick Afful, prevailed upon Mr. Bissue and his supporters to refrain from any divisive campaigns that will taint the image of the party in the constituency ahead of the 2024 general elections.

“At the end of the day, we are going to elect one of our own to contest the other parties in the 2024 elections.”

“So please advise your followers to refrain from insults and name-calling. We should be united and support whoever comes out victorious and give the NDC a showdown in 2024”, he pointed out.
