Black Stars Qualify For World Cup

GHANA’S BLACK Stars yesterday played spiritedly to seal their fourth World Cup finals qualification in Abuja, Nigeria.

The qualification was sealed on an away goal rule, courtesy skipper Thomas Partey’s early goal.

The home side responded from a spot kick converted by Watford’s William Troost-Ekong before recess, sending the packed stadium into frenzy.

The Super Eagles threw more men up front  after the break, but Otto Addo’s men proved equal to task.

On Sunday in Kumasi, the Nigerians succeeded in drawing  0-0 in the first leg, giving Augustine Eguavon and his charges high hopes of making it to the Mundial in Qatar come November.

In Kumasi, Accra and other regional capitals, there were jubilations after the Black Stars’ qualification.

Excited Ghanaian soccer fans trooped to the streets to demonstrate their excitement.

Some of the soccer fans were seen chanting ‘Osee Ghana’ right in the middle of the streets.
