THERE WERE nasty scenes at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi on Sunday dawn.
Two groups were virtually at each other’s throats because of an upcoming Students’ Representative Council (SRC) polls.
The two groups were from University Hall (Katanga) and the Unity Hall (Conti), their disagreement originating from the vetting exercise.
For about 30 minutes, the two groups exchanged blows and also hurled objects at each other.
It took a police patrol to restore order when the local security detail could not manage the fight.
In the end, broken flower pots and glasses were strewn all over the scene of engagement.
A few students present sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
