Stormy Brooks Lawell lying dead
A NORMAL swimming expedition by a group of teenagers suddenly turned horrific, as one of them died.
Seventeen-year-old Stormy Brooks Lawell drowned immediately after jumping into the pool to swim.
His shocked friends raised the alarm but it was late as he had already given up the ghost.
The body is now at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue for preservation and autopsy.
The incident reportedly occurred at a hotel at Bronkong in Kumasi at 7:00pm on December 27, 2020.
A police report sighted by the DAILY GUIDE, which confirmed the death, stated that investigations were ongoing.
The owner of the hotel, Solomon Koduah, on December 27, 2020 reported the incident to the police.
The hotel owner said the 17-year-old boy got drowned and was rushed to the Epaphras Hospital at Bronkong.
According to the report, Lawell was declared dead after thorough checks on the body by medical staff.
“Police visited the said facility and found the deceased lying in a supine position covered with a cloth on the hospital bed and wearing black boxer shorts.
“Inspection was conducted on the body but no physical marks of violence were found,” the police report indicated.
It added that “the body was photographed and thereafter removed and deposited at KATH mortuary for preservation.”
