‘Bring Back Kotoko Glory Days’

Nana Yaw Amponsah

The newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah, has all it takes to restore the club’s lost fortunes, according to Wilfred Kweku Osei, president of Tema Youth SC.

Known popularly as Palmer, the Tema Youth boss believes Yaw Amponsah has great potentials to push the once greatly feared side to the top on the continent and beyond.

Last Friday in Kumasi, Kotoko introduced the young football administrator to a teeming crowd at the Sports Hotel; a scene typifying the fans’ readiness to rally behind him.

And shortly after the introduction, Palmer demonstrated gross sportsmanship by sending Kotoko’s new appointee a goodwill message, urging him on to go all out.

Palmer stated in his congratulatory message, “…Your understanding of the game and your management expertise is second to none and I have no doubt in mind you will bring back the glory days of Asante Kotoko.”

The Tema Youth chief added, “Kotoko needs you, Ghana football needs. Go out there and bring back the love.”

And in his inaugural address, Amponsah said, “I’m going to make sure Kotoko participate in the FIFA Club World Cup. Asante Kotoko is the biggest brand in Ghana.”

The new CEO has signed a three-year contract with Kotoko.
