Camidoh & Kwesi Arthur Drop ‘Dance With You’

Talented Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Camidoh, has released the first official single of his forthcoming debut album titled “L.I.T.A.”

Titled, “Dance With You,” it features the rapper and singer, Kwesi Arthur. It was officially released on Tuesday on various streaming platforms.

“I can’t be distracted from making quality music for the world,” he said on Monday ahead of the release.

Born Raphael Kofi Attachie, Camidoh is described as a fast-rising singer-songwriter and producer. He is among an outstanding crop of young innovators leading the nation’s pop revival.

Noted for his cloying vocals, transporting lyrics and majestic stage performances, as well as a growing catalogue of radio staples in his home country and on the continent, Camidoh’s music unravels in richly ambitious experimentations across multiple languages and across an expansive spectrum, including but not limited to Afropop, highlife, soul and neo-R&B.

A native of Aflao in the Volta Region, he is the first of three children and was raised by a single mother and educationist, Madam Christiana Dzifa Fudjoe. He is an alumnus of the Bishop Herman College in Kpando and the University of Professional Studies in Accra. He cites Senegalese-American popstar Akon, who was introduced to him by a cousin circa 2005, as a primary technical model.

Before embarking on his solo career, Camidoh was part of Belce, a music duo he co-founded with KD Bakes while in high school. The group was signed to MyCo Music in December 2008, migrating to 3FS Productions in April 2016. The group disbanded a year after.

Camidoh published his breakthrough single, the Darkovibes-assisted ‘For My Lover’ in 2018. Self-produced, the record, as well as subsequent submissions by the musician, has received widespread plaudits for his fluid, authentic and progressive take on West African pop and fusing it with western sounds. Currently, he is known for popular songs like ‘Available’, ‘For My Lover’, ‘Fuego’ and ‘Maria’ among others.
