A SEVEN year old boy has unfortunately died after he was knocked down by a vehicle at Ntonso near Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.
The boy, according to a police report was crossing the main Kumasi to Asante Mampong highway at 1:50pm when he was hit by a Toyota Hiace mini bus, registered AP 265-21.
The police document indicated that the victim, Abubakari Abdul Rauf sustained severe body injuries after the accident.
Some Good Samaritans rushed injured Abdul Rauf to the Zion Praise Hospital at Kona for treatment, but unfortunately he was declared dead later on.
The police document, which has been seen by the DAILY GUIDE said Abdul Rauf’s body has since been deposited in a mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
Francis Oppong, the driver and the accident vehicle, has since been detained by the Mamponteng police, who have opened investigations into the case.
