Cardi B
Rapper Cardi B has dismissed rumours that she was paid to appear at U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent rally, where she endorsed Harris, the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.
Cardi B spoke at the rally in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Friday, encouraging support for Harris in the upcoming election.
Following her appearance, speculation surfaced online suggesting that Cardi B received compensation for endorsing Harris.
However, in a statement on her X account, Cardi firmly denied these claims, asserting that her support was genuine and unpaid.
“I did not get paid a dollar for this… I actually been talking about these topics for the past couple years for free on my platforms!!” Cardi B wrote, emphasising her long-standing commitment to social issues.
She explained that her advocacy stems from personal experience, having lived in poverty for 24 years. “Before I was a celebrity I was a product of poverty… so you not gonna tell me what I want to see in my community,” she added.
