Carlos Ahenkorah Recovers from Covid-19

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has declared former Deputy Trade and Industry Minister, Carlos Ahenkorah recovered from Covid-19.

A notification of recovery letter signed by GHS Director-General, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, noted that Mr Ahenkorah “obtained two consecutive negative laboratory test result for Covid-19.”

The GHS, however, indicated that his recovery does not imply the former Deputy Trade and Industry Minister is immune from contracting the virus and therefore urged him to observe all Covid-19 safety protocols after being discharged.

Mr Ahenkorah came under strong public criticism after he visited a registration centre despite being aware of his Covid-19 positive status.

He subsequently resigned from his position as Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry.

Ghana has so far recorded 23,834 Covid-19 cases, 19, 212 recoveries and 135 deaths.
