Celebrate Me Now, Not When I Die – Obaapa Christy

Gospel singer Obaapa Christy says she wants to be celebrated while she is still alive and not when she is dead.

She made the claim during the launch of her upcoming concert, Royal Praise, at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.

The veteran musician said she does not want people to wait until she retires or dies before appreciating her contributions to gospel music.

“People should celebrate me now. They shouldn’t wait until I retire or leave this world before appreciating what I have done,” she reportedly said.

According to Obaapa Christy, many musicians dedicate their lives to inspiring people, but they must receive the recognition they deserve while still alive and not only after they are gone.
