President of Celebrity Golf Club, Tang Hong, has highly commended John ‘Wonders’ Mawuli, captain of the Professional Golfers Association (PGA), for the establishment of a golf academy in the country.
The Academy-Wonders Rising Stars Golf Academy seeks primarily to groom talented juveniles to become golf professionals.
It will also support both amateur and professional golfers for both local and international tournaments under the tutelage of Muwuli.
Tang Hong, who is the chairman of the academy, said in Sakumono recently that “I am confident with the talents we have, the coaching and structures in place, and the support of a very dedicated juvenile committee that would be put in place, we will achieve that ambition over the next few years.”
The academy chairman, who is also the CEO of Tang Palace, added, “Plans are also in place to organise a youth competition this year to unveil the talents we have at the juvenile level. Preparations are in advanced stages for this year’s GITI Tire tournament.”
The Celebrity Golf Club president mentioned that his dream is to see the club, as well as the academy ranked the best in Ghana and one of the best in the sub-region.
