Céline Dion
Céline Dion has announced her return to the stage, four years after health challenges forced her to stop performing.
The singer revealed she will headline a 10-night residency at the Paris La Défense Arena in September and October. The venue has a capacity of 40,000 and the shows are expected to attract large crowds.
The announcement coincided with Dion’s 58th birthday. In a message shared with fans, she described the comeback as “the best gift of my life”.
“I’m so ready to do this,” she said, adding that she feels strong, excited and slightly nervous about returning to the stage.
Céline Dion has been away from live performances since March 2020, when her Courage tour was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She later revealed she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological condition that affects movement and vocal ability.
Despite the challenges, the singer said she is now managing her health and has resumed singing and light dancing. She also thanked fans for their continued support during her recovery.
Tickets for the shows will go on sale from 7 April, with demand expected to be very high.
Plans for her return were hinted at last week and gained further attention when the Eiffel Tower lit up with the message “Paris, je suis prête” (Paris, I am ready), accompanied by a selection of her songs.
Céline Dion previously made a brief return to the stage during the 2024 Paris Olympics, performing from the Eiffel Tower.
Her upcoming residency marks her first full series of concerts since her diagnosis, signalling a major milestone in her career and recovery.
