Chambas Speaks On Peace, Tolerance Today

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and the National Chief Imam

Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas, the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel, will today speak on the theme: “Advancement of Modern Ghanaian Society through Peace, Tolerance and Development”.

The lecture is part of activities marking the centenary celebration of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

It will have in attendance Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia as the special guest. Also in attendance will be former presidents and other dignitaries.

Early on, the Vice-President joined the National Chief Imam for a thanksgiving service and the Friday congregational prayers at the Abossey Okai Central Mosque.

The special thanksgiving prayer was organized to express gratitude to God for the blessings He has bestowed on the National Chief Imam, who turns 100 today.

After the Friday prayers, the cleric presided over the thanksgiving prayers, offering special intercession for the country and its leaders especially President Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Bawumia. He made a request for more wisdom for them to steer the affairs of the country.
