Change Course So-Called Fixers

Changing the course of pseudo-political entities such as the #Fixthecountry grouping, towards meaningful national campaigns would inure to the interests of the country.

Shouldn’t the organizers of these political campaigns occasioned by street jamborees, look at how to deal with the negative mindsets of some of our compatriots rather than hanging on to the apron strings of disgruntled politicians and doing their biddings?

With their inciting skills, we are looking at the possibility of having them if they sincerely seek the interests of Ghana, set their sights on critical issues such as the stealing of state assets among others.

The list is long. Some are not tangible but equally injurious to the interest of the state as much as the intangible ones. Civil servants, teachers and others who pay lip-service to the state should be exposed for their negative attitude to the people of this country, the sources of their remunerations.

The unproductive attitude of individuals some of them professionals as they turn their backs on their tax obligations to the state has deliberately not appeared on the radar of the fixers.

What more is worthy of fixing than these pieces of integrity blemishes which constitute critical stumbling blocks to our national prosperity?

The stealing of the fittings of the Pokuase Interchange couple of days ago is an affront on the image of the country apart from the extra money the state must provide to replace them.

Supporters of the construction of the edifice should be wondering about what is accounting for the inclination of some of us towards stealing of state assets rather than protecting and even relishing them.

The fixing of the abandoned railway system in the country is being hampered by busy thieves who in collaboration with scrap dealers are stripping the developing infrastructure of its vital parts such as the sleepers and tracks.

We need campaigners who would organize Ghanaians to rise against persons whose occupation is the stripping of parts of our national infrastructure.

Doing so and steering away from the residences of disgruntled politicians would endear them to their compatriots.

We hardly hear the so-called fixers and their financiers raise their voices against these acts of impropriety and outright thieveries.

Let them step away from the confinement of politics and deal with those directly involved in acts which retard the progress of the country. That should render them a dose of credibility.

The travails of the country are not caused by only bad politicians but citizens who have no regards for what belongs to us all as a people and would inflict injury to the belly of the state indifferently.

We would be elated to one day see citizens of this country marching in the streets against white collar thieves, motorcycle robbers and politicians who spew lies to innocent citizens even as the government is on a fixing mode.
