By Faith Charity Foundation, has organised a party for over 1,103 persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Tamale, in the Northern Region.

The Foundation provided the PWDs with food, assorted drinks and various gifts as part of their annual Valentine’s Day celebration.

The persons with disabilities were also treated with good musical dance, fun games among other activities to celebrate them.

The beneficiaries include physically challenged, visually impaired, persons with albinism, persons with hearing impairment among others.

Manageress of the By Faith Catering Services, Matilda Pipio, said the annual event is a form of giving back to the society, especially vulnerable people in Tamale and its surroundings.

“We decided to reach out to them and to assure them that there’s still hope. Let’s show love to the vulnerable in society because it’s not their fault that they are in such a situation,” she said.

“Let’s show them love despite their disabilities, and once we do this, we will build a united society that everybody will feel belonging,” Madam Pipio added.

The Northern Regional President of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations, Abubakari Sahadatu Nimah, commended the Foundation for bringing them together to wine and dine.

She, however, cautioned the public to desist from stigmatising and discriminating against persons with disabilities.

“Our current situation is the will of God so let’s stop stigmatising and discriminating against persons with disabilities,” she said.
