Jerry John Rawlings and Nana Konadu
Ex-President Jerry John Rawlings has said he suffered before he could win the heart of his lovely wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings.
He revealed it took him five years to finally win her and when he did, she became calm towards him.
According to him, she used to be quite hostile towards him but when she accepted him, she mellowed.
Mr Rawlings made the revelation when he appeared on Dining With, hosted by actress Yvonne Okoro on GHone on Sunday.
“I chased Nana for five years. After I had left the school and come back. One Saturday, with a gang of friends we went to the house and I sent for her. I didn’t think she will come and she did and I saw she had mellowed. She used to be a little hostile towards me.
I had been showing interest in her line up of friend just so I could walk alongside them, I’m telling you. Mabr? ooo (I suffered ooo),” he added.
Mr & Mrs Rawlings have been married since 1977 and are currently blessed with four children — Zanetor, Kimathi, Amina and Yaa Asantewaa.
