Ghanaian food content creator, Chef Abbys, has expressed gratitude to the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, after being invited to make history as the first African creator to do a live food demo at Trafalgar Square.
The event forms part of this year’s Black on the Square celebrations, which will spotlight African cuisine and culture.
In a post on X, Chef Abbys wrote, “This time I’m doing an African street food demo! Showcasing the simple African food things that everyone can make in their homes. Come around guys! Easy to learn.”
Chef Abbys described the invitation as a major milestone in her career.
“This is HUGE to me,” she said.
The Black on the Square event, dubbed “The London Taste,” will take place this Saturday at Trafalgar Square and will feature African foods and live cooking demonstrations. The event is free for all.
The celebration is expected to bring together food lovers to explore and experience the rich flavours of African cuisine at the heart of London.
