Akilu Sayibu with senior officers of GEPA in China
Five senior officials of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) are in China for a three-week seminar on that country’s developmental agenda.
Led by Akilu Sayibu, Deputy CEO of GEPA, the Ghanaian delegation group would attend series of lectures and embark on a tour of some of China’s industrial and historic cities.
The seminar is under the auspices of the Academy of International Business Officials of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.
It would focus on new concepts, new thoughts and new strategies of China National Leader’s Governance; the One Belt and One Road Initiative; China’s experience in agricultural development and agricultural modernization, as well as China’s experience in international economic and technical cooperation, among others.
Aside the lectures, practical visitations would be made to the Great Wall of China, the Bird’s Nest and Chinatown.
The team will also visit the Xi, a city planning exhibition hall and also the Drum Tower Square.
There are 122 participants from 17 countries participating in the various seminars for 2017 and the five member GEPA team, which is already in China, will return to Ghana on June 22.
Speaking to BUSINESS GUIDE, Mr Sayibu expressed gratitude to the government and people of China for sponsoring the seminars and explained that knowledge acquired from the seminars would be used to enhance and improve their work.
According to him, their participation in the seminars would improve their understanding of some of the ethics and strategies of China in terms of their economic advancement and development.
He noted that the seminar would go a long way to enhance the business relationship between China and Ghana.
Other members of the delegation from GEPA are Samuel Lartey, Janet Armah?Joyce Baah Tawiah and Madam Ramatu.
