CID Chases Fake Zein Security Boss

Twum Ampofo Agyekum

A man, who has been holding himself out as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zein Security Company Limited, is on the run, following failed attempts to get him arrested.

Twum Ampofo Agyekum, according to information available to DAILY GUIDE, has failed to honour an invitation extended to him by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service at the Police Headquarters, Accra, after his alleged nefarious activities at the Kotoka International Airport came to light.

In an interview with Dennis Adusu, Deputy Managing Director of Zein Security, he said “Twum Ampofo Agyekum told directors of the company sometime last year that he could facilitate the acquisition of a contract with Ghana Airport Company Limited so we will provide security at the Kotoka International Airport.”

Mr Adusu maintained, “Indeed, he did the facilitation for us, and we won the bid only for him to start doing a lot of serious business in the name of Zein Security on the blind side of the Board of Directors and management of the company.”

He said after the contract had been signed between Zein Security and Ghana Airport Company, Twum Ampofo Agyekum went ahead to recruit security guards, sewed Zein Security uniforms for them and posted them at the arrival hall, departure hall and car parks of the Kotoka International Airport without the knowledge and consent of Zein Security Company.

Mr Adusu disclosed that the alleged fraudster then took the cheque for GH¢477,872.50, meant for Zein Security through a bank account, adding, “How he did that, nobody knows.

“As we speak, we have reported the matter to the police headquarters, and Twum Ampofo Agyekum has been dodging the police since then.

“For us at Zein Security, this is a serious matter because the man is not paying the SSNIT contribution of the guards he has recruited in the name of our company.

“He has not even paid their salaries after posing as the CEO of Zein Security to take that cheque.

“Importantly, the Kotoka International Airport is a major entry point into the country. If this man is planning to use the name of our company to perpetrate any crime, such as acts of terrorism, we do not know.”

DAILY GUIDE gathered that last week, Twum Ampofo promised to report at the police headquarters after a complaint had been lodged against him, but failed to show up on Thursday and Friday.

The police are said to have launched a manhunt for him, and seem to be closing in on him.
