A FINAL year student of Oppong Memorial Senior High School (SHS) at Kokofu, in the Ashanti Region, is feared dead.
The male student was reported to have been stabbed on Saturday evening by a male coconut seller at Kokofu, resulting in his untimely death.
The coconut seller then escaped after committing the heinous crime and the police are on his heels.
So far, there are conflicting reports, regarding what may have influenced the coconut seller to end the life of the student.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bekwai, Kwaku Kyei Baffuor, later confirmed the SHS student’s death.
“Reports said the final year SHS student was stabbed following an argument with the coconut seller,” he disclosed.
The MCE also noted that “other reports said the coconut seller tried to snatch the boy’s phone and he ended up stabbing him.”
Kyei Baffuor, who is the Head of Municipal Security Council of the area, said he has ordered the police to investigate the matter.
Other reports said the boy’s demise has sparked extreme anger in Kokofu, and the family of the student is also demanding justice.
