Muslim stakeholders have been entreated to put forward proposals towards addressing the leadership challenges and others issues facing the faith in the country.

The demand was contained in a press release issued by the Coalition of Muslim Organisations of Ghana (COMOG) against the backdrop of a planned conference of stakeholders scheduled to take place next month.

Submitted contributions are to be thoroughly discussed during the conference which is drawing support from the Muslim Caucus of Parliament and the Advisory Board of the National Chief Imam.

The two day national conference which will be held under the theme: “Enhancing the Capacity of Muslim Leadership for Ghana’s Development Agenda”, is to take place in Accra, from February 7 to February 9, 2019.

Expected participants who include representatives from various state agencies, Muslim non- governmental organizations (NGO) and associations, religious and traditional leaders are to discuss pertinent issues that hinged on Muslim leadership, religious rights and state security among others.

The coordinator of the programme Abdel Manan Abdel Rahman said the adoption of one model of Muslim leadership which would be further modified for implementation would be one of the highlights of the conference.

“While participation is strictly by invitation, the organizing committee of the conference invites proposals, memo, ideas and suggestions on any of the issues that will be deliberated on at the conference from Muslim NGOs, think tanks, sectarian groupings, Muslim scholars, professionals and individuals.
