Janet Nabla
A serious leadership crisis is consuming People’s National Convention (PNC) compelling the party to suspend its General Secretary, Janet Nabla with immediate effect, a letter sighted by DGN Online stated.
Ms Nabila was suspended after a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at GNAT Hall in Accra on Saturday August 28, 2021over what the party terms as indiscipline, misconduct and disrespect for leadership.
According to the statement issued by the party after the meeting, the suspension follows the NEC consideration and adoption of a report submitted by the Disciplinary Committee of the party which unanimously arrived at a decision to suspend the General Secretary in order to rid the party of indiscipline and to save the party also from persistent vile accusations and disrespect for leadership which has undoubtedly cast the PNC in bad light.
Giving details of the suspension, a petition was said to have been put before the party asking the General Secretary to answer for her misconduct and account for her stewardship.
However, the General Secretary reportedly snubbed the Committee albeit several attempts to get her to appear before it.
“Following from this, the Committee presented it report to NEC for consideration which recommended an indefinite suspension of Madam Janet Nabla and it was unanimously endorsed by NEC in accordance with Article 57 (7) of the party’s constitution,” a statement signed by National Chairman of the party Moses Dani Baah, explained.
The PNC was optimistic that the suspension will help to protect the image of the party in the midst of the negative reportage that have surrounded the party in recent times as a result of the conduct of Ms Nabla.
It further implores the media and all institutions and agencies to stop dealing with the suspended General Secretary.
