Chief Inspector Victoria Peprah
A female Chief Inspector of Police has died under circumstances which have so far showed no traits of foul play. With no marks suggesting violence, her death has prompted questions about what really happened.
The lifeless body of Chief Inspector Victoria Peprah was on the verge of decomposition at the time of its discovery in her Nungua Link residence in Baatsona, Accra on Monday.
Richard Ofori, her neighbor and co-tenant who had not seen her since last Saturday traced a foul smell to her room where a swarm of flies was prominent.
He quickly called the attention of the Police at Sakumono whose District Commander Supt/Mrs. Elizabeth Danquah led a team of personnel to the room where the body of the deceased was lying and on the verge of decomposition.
The district commander invited a crime scene team to conduct the routine procedure when such occurrences take place. The inspection of the body a part of the routine showed no marks of violence to suggest foul play.
The body has since been transferred to the Police Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
