Coronavirus Update: Ghana Hits 195 Confirmed Cases

The number of confirmed coronavirus (Covid-19) cases has hit 195 as at 8:00am April 1, 2020.

Out of the total confirmed cases, 106 were recorded from the general surveillance system, both in Accra and Kumasi, 79 from those on mandatory quarantine in Accra and 10 from those in mandatory quarantine in Tamale.

General Surveillance

The Minister of health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, addressing a press briefing in Accra, said three patients recorded from the general surveillance have fully recovered and have therefore been discharged from the treatment facilities.

He further noted that 80 people out of the same 160 recorded in the general surveillance are responding to treatment while 18 have been discharged to be managed at home.

However, five people have sucummbed to the disease among this same group.

Accra Mandatory Quarantine

For those on mandatory, 48 are responding to treatment in isolation at health facilities while 31 have been discharged for home management.

This group has not recorded any full recovery or death.

Tamale Mandatory Quarantine

All the 10 positive cases recorded in Tamale are responding to treatment within deaths recorded.

So far, Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern and Upper West Regions have recorded cases of covid-19.
