CYC, Partners Discuss Covid-19

Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) has held a discussion with its partners on the impact of Covid-19 on youth unemployment.

The discussion was held on zoom, a virtual app, on the topic ‘Human & Economic Impact of Covid-19 on Youth Unemployment’, highlighting the problems that young people were facing as employees or entrepreneurs and present opportunities that could connect these youth during these trying times.

The discussion was hosted by Miss Abena Dugan, the Vice-Chair for Partnership and Resources at the CYC and also the official representative voice for more than 1.2 billion young people of the Commonwealth and with her personality, she is easy to relate to and always ready to explore new relations and partnerships for the improvement of the Commonwealth.

She added that it was important for the CYC to look into the impact the Covid-19 and find solutions to them.

Some other participants of the virtual discussion were the Director General of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, Eurasian Regional Centre, Elmaddin Mehdiyev; Miss Adelaide Hirve, the Manager of ACP YPN; Secretary General of AU Youth Diaspora Initiative; Deputy Secretary General of Pan Africa Youth Union; Brad Olsen Ahmed Benning, a senior economist and infometric and 2016 Queen’s Young Leader in New Zealand.
