The Atwima Mponua District Chief Executive (DCE), Williams Darko, together with AirtelTigo Ghana has commissioned a six unit classroom block at Kotokuom Community in the Central region.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Mr Darko commended AirtelTigo for putting up one of the most beautifully designed classroom blocks in the community at no cost to the community, adding that the company deserved praises for impacting lives.
“AirtelTigo Corporate responsibilities could complement the government’s efforts to make education accessible to all children”, he said.
Mr Darko advised parents to prioritize their children’s education, saying, “No family member can take the knowledge the children will acquire through education from them”, he said.
Mr. Kwame Osafo Amoah, the head of Commercial for Airteltigo Ashanti Zone, said the project was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility which hinged on education.
The project was commissioned at a colourful ceremony attended by stakeholders in the Education sector including the District Coordinating Director, Nana Kwaku Boah, Chief of Kotokuom, District Education Director and a delegation from AirtelTigo Ghana attended the ceremony.
