Dedicated Terminal For Northern Regions In Accra

Directors, drivers and staff of VIP Jeoun Limited

VIP JEOUN Transport Company Limited has commissioned a newly dedicated terminal for the five northern regions of Ghana near its Accra Main Terminal.

The Executive Director of the company, Yaw Amponsah Marfo, popularly known as Agya Wiase and other directors of the company on Friday officially commissioned new buses at its Accra main terminal for business operations to commence.

Passengers can now comfortably get buses that would go to any part of the northern regions from the new terminal.

Following the creation of six new regions with two of them in the northern part of Ghana by the Akufo-Addo government in 2018, customers of the company who find themselves in that part of the country had demanded for some buses to have destinations in the other regions.

The newly dedicated terminal for the five northern regions therefore comes as the company’s response to these demands.

In a brief address, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jeoun said his outfit was transforming and expanding their services taking into consideration the COVID-19 protocols as well as the security of its clients.

He announced that the company had purchased 30 new buses between January and June this year; adding that plans are far advanced to open a terminal in Tamale as well.

Representing the Ministry of Transport and the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), Ing. David Adonteng commended the company for their leadership and penchant for setting the pace for new developments in Ghana’s transport industry.

He admitted that even though Ghana lacked well structured terminals for drivers, a new trend was emerging as being spearheaded by the VIP Company Limited.

“We recognise them as pacesetters in the transport industry and we expect them to do more for the benefit of the citizens,” said Ing. Adonteng.

He also disclosed that following the issuance of new directives for players in the transport industry to comply with, field reports indicate that VIP Jeoun was complying with them.

The company, he added, is also taking steps to work with the National Driving Academy in training their drivers.

He pledged the full support of the Transport Ministry and the NRSA for the company, saying, “We will join you in your pre-departure checks, training of drivers and all your endeavours to ensure you succeed.”
