Densu To Be Dredged

Dredging of the Densu River from the Weija Dam downstream through New Weija, Oblogo to Tetegu, will take off in the coming weeks.

The dredging work, when completed, is expected help in the prevention of perennial flooding along the waterway.

Engineers of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, officials of National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the Hydro Department of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources on Wednesday, 13th March 2019, took the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, round to see the extent of work to be done.

Mr. Kumor said the Municipal Assembly was taking preventive measures to safeguard lives and property.

The dredging work will be the first in over thirty years.

The MCE asked the contractor to work diligently and with dispatch to complete the project on time.
