Alexander Kwaku Amoah, one of Ghana’s celebrated disc jockeys (DJ), currently with Asaase Radio, will today celebrate his 24 years on radio with a cocktail party to entertain some of his listeners and friends.

The celebration, which he has been kept secret from the industry players understandably, is meant to be a get-together for sincere friends and colleagues.

Some selected radio DJs and presenters of Asaase Radio will be there to thrill invited guests with good tunes. There will also be performances from some of the country’s finest artistes.

The party, which is scheduled to take place at his residence, promises to be exciting. It will also serve as a networking and socialisation platform to bring together his friends and his listeners.

Known on radio as Candy Man, the radio DJ who has won the hearts of many radio listeners in the capital with his style of play and presentation, in a chat with BEATWAVES, expressed his gratitude to God for His protection and guidance in the course of his career as a DJ and broadcaster.

“It has not been an easy journey, twenty four (24) years in the radio industry I have gone through a lot. I am happy to be counted among the successful radio DJs in Ghana today,” he said.

Candy Man, during the chat with BEATWAVES, recounted his journey from Lynk FM, Fox FM, Hello FM, Rainbow Radio and Atinka FM before finally joining Asaase Radio a year ago.

“I want to use this opportunity to also thank my fans and colleagues for their contributions to my career and their comments that pushed me this far,” he said. Candy Man started his radio career with Lynk FM in the Garden City where he worked from 1997 to 1999. He then moved on to Shalon Radio at Brekum. He later joined Fox FM where he worked with the station for five years. From Fox FM he moved to Hello FM in Kumasi.  At Hello FM, he paid his dues diligently. He was the talk of town and mentored upcoming DJs who have now become bankable in show business.

While at Hello FM, he was the toast of popular night clubs in Kumasi. With his mixes, he blew the roof off Fox Trap, Kiravi, Yegola and Café Masarati night clubs respectively. He left Hello FM in 2011 after six years of real radio revolution.
