He made this announcement when he represented President Akufo-Addo at the first graduation for 44 Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) students and fourth matriculation for 72 medical, nursing & midwifery students (2018/19) for the Family Health University College (FHUC) at Teshie, Accra.

Mr. Agyeman-Manu also disclosed that the ministry was also finalising its Human Resource Policy (HRP), National Health Policy (NHP) and restructuring of the National Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to ensure an improved healthcare for all Ghanaians.

He was, however, worried that the doctor to population ratio and that of the nurses continues to remain a challenge to reckon with.

To the graduating class, the minister charged them to be guided by the ethics of the medical profession which is innovation, distinction and care in the discharge of their duties, adding that they should work hard at enrolling for their final training.

He assured that the ministry would support every effort by private individuals towards capacity building increase in the number of health professionals and health infrastructure development in the country.

President of FHUC, Prof. Yao Kwawukume, indicated that the Family Health Group which comprises a hospital, nursing and midwifery school and a medical school started from humble beginnings in a garage at Mamprobi in 1997 and later moved to Teshie in Accra.

He stated that the services and equipment at the various levels are the best to help it provide the best of services to patients and students alike, adding that it has Ghanaian and international lecturers.
