Dokua Gives Water To Three Communities

The MP cutting the tape to commission one of the water projects

The Deputy Minister of Information who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akuapem North Constituency in the Eastern Region, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, has commissioned water projects for three communities in her area, namely Akwateakwaso, Mampong and Nkwanta.

The MP also cut the sod for the construction of Kwamoso football field. According to her, the water projects are to ease the difficulties the beneficiary communities face during the dry season.

She, therefore, urged the residents not to make any mistake of voting against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) because such decision would retard the development of their communities and Ghana at large.

“No government can directly give you money but their policies will help you get the money and that’s what the NPP is doing. If you are not benefitting from Planting for Food and Jobs, one of your family members is benefiting from NABCO. If none of them is qualified, one of your friends is gaining employment under the One District One Factory initiative and definitely … our children will enjoy the Free SHS policy,” she added.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Akuapem North, Barima Asiedu-Larbi, also tasked the residents to take good care of the water projects. He said the only way the projects could last is through regular maintenance.

“Government and the MP have done their part. For now, it’s up to you to keep the project for a very long time. In this country, we have a problem with our maintenance culture. We shouldn’t leave everything to government and the leadership; we all have to get involved and keep government’s property in shape for more development,” he stressed.
