Don’t Underrate NPP Youth – Osei-Poku

Jerry Osei-Poku

The Eastern Regional Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated that the youth who will sustain the party in future must not be underrated.

Mr Osei–Poku, aka JOP, said the party stands to benefit immensely if it makes use of the energy and expertise of the youth to develop the nation.

The regional youth organizer, who is seeking re-election, told DAILY GUIDE in an exclusive interview that he worked tirelessly with the other executives and the rank and file to defect the NDC in 2016 and must be given a second chance by the delegates.

He said he has offered equal opportunities to youth of the NPP in the region over the past four years.

“I have served the party well and I am going to intensify efforts to make the youth the focus of the party’s activities in the region.

“The party needs experience, competence and the can-do spirit to continue to chalk successes. My next agenda is to consolidate the gains made at the grassroots level for 2020 and beyond,” he said.

Mr Osei–Poku said under his leadership, he managed to increase the TESCON branches from 11 to 21 and secured motorbikes and resources for the youth wing to help win the 2016 elections.

He said, “I was able to organize the first ever regional youth wing awards night where deserving members and polling station youth organizers, numbering about 2961 and their deputies were recognized.”

Some youth wings in the region have already started a campaign dubbed, ‘Get JOP Re-elect,’ saying they are seeing a transformation in the youth wing.

According to them, JOP is very respectful, humble and relates well with others.

“Jerry has formulated all campaign strategies in about six constituencies in the region to win in the NDC’s strongholds,” they added.
