DOSH Health Insurance has been named Outstanding Digital Health Insurance Company of the Year at the 9th Ghana Business Standard Awards (GBSA) held in Accra.
The award was received by Chief Executive Officer, Frank Augustine Dagbui.
The award recognises organisations demonstrating excellence, innovation and sustainable growth, and highlights DOSH Health Insurance’s commitment to driving digital innovation and expanding accessible, affordable and available health insurance coverage across the country.
DOSH Health Insurance pioneered a “digital-first model” which enables customers to register, select a plan, pay premiums and manage their coverage instantly via the ‘DOSH is life’ App, CSR-assisted telephony, WhatsApp, or the USSD shortcode _915#.
Its strategic alliance with MTN MoMo has further scaled access by empowering customers to use mobile money platforms to activate and manage their health coverage.
Commenting on the award, Mr. Dagbui said the recognition validates the company’s core belief in practical innovation.
“This recognition validates one of our core beliefs that while we strive to always be on the leading edge of innovation, we will also ensure that the solutions we deliver are always practical and usable. It vindicates and validates the lofty goals we have set and reflects the immense hard work and diligence our team has put into the development of products that simplify the acquisition of health protection,” he said.
“We believe technology not only should, but must, eliminate barriers, not introduce them. As we proceed, we will continue to develop the type of practical solutions that make quality health insurance easier to access for all Ghanaians,” he added.
