Canadian rapper Drake has lost $565,000 after betting on Tyson Fury to defeat Oleksandr Usyk. This marks yet another substantial gambling loss for the musician.
Prior to the fight, Drake took to Instagram to announce his $565,000 wager on Fury. Had Fury emerged victorious, Drake would have collected just over $1 million.
However, Usyk triumphed over Fury by split decision in Saudi Arabia, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight boxing champion in 24 years.
With this victory, Usyk added Fury’s World Boxing Council (WBC) title to his World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF), and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) belts.
This loss follows previous high-stake bets that did not go in Drake’s favour. He lost a significant sum after Anthony Joshua’s knockout win over Francis Ngannou and another $700,000 following Dricus Du Plessis’s victory over Sean Strickland at UFC 297.
