Organisers of 30km national Road Baton Relay, Dreamland Sports Plus, have revealed that plans are afoot to name the prestigious athletics event after the National Chief Imam, Dr. Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu.
The CEO of Dreamland Sports Plus, Emmanuel Ola Williams, who is also the Youth Director of Sports at the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), mentioned that decision to name the event after the Imam forms part of activities to mark his 100th birthday anniversary celebration.
The event, which hits its fourth year this year, is scheduled for August 12, and it is collaboration with the Ghana Olympic Committee, Ghana Education Service, National Sports Authority and the Ghana Athletics Association.Â
