Archbishop Duncan-Williams and son
Daniel Duncan-Williams, son of Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, on Tuesday pulled a shocker when he shared naked and obscene videos of himself on social media.
The explicit videos, which also contained his sexual escapades with different women, were shared on his Twitter account under the name Dee Wills Live.
One of the videos showed him with two girls who were naked in a pool with him and having a sexual affair. He titled it “Timeline asleep?”
He was subsequently arrested by the American police from his hideout in the United States of America (USA).
His father, who is the General Overseer of Action Chapel International, immediately reacted and called for prayers for his son, revealing he is bipolar.
A statement signed by one Bishop Ebenezer Obodai, spokesperson for the Archbishop and his family, said Daniel had been battling acute bipolar ailment for the past six years.
He has accordingly undergone the very best medical interventions, treatments and hospitalizations, but he experiences relapses when he does not continue on his prescribed medication.
The man of God has, therefore, advised the Ghanaian media to exercise some caution in his son’s case, saying, “His outbursts on social media and elsewhere should not be media fodder or click-bait. We acknowledge that the obscenities are abhorrent but understand that he has a serious illness. Daniel is not of himself and he has never been in prison.”
“Historically, many mega pastors have all had to deal with their personal family challenges in the public eye and in this same vein, we also ask you to separate ‘who a person is from their mistakes’. We love Daniel, and we believe God’s mercy turns what was meant for evil to good for them that love the Lord and are called according to his purpose. Daniel also continues to be covered and supported spiritually with intense and consistent prayers,” the statement added.
“The Archbishop has prayed all over the world for nations, leaders, pastors, families, mothers and lay people and at this time, he asks that you join in prayer for Danny and the family. We believe that, with God on our side, Daniel will come out of this stronger and with a testimony to the glory of God.
“This is a test of his faith. In his own words, ‘I acknowledge the situation my son is in, and I still love him…please pray for us…’ Love covers a multitude of sins,” the Archbishop added.
“The Archbishop and his family continue to stand firm in their faith believing God for Daniel’s full deliverance, healing and restoration. We ask that you please respect their privacy as they navigate through this trying time,” Bishop Obodai indicated.
Daniel is believed to be the last son of the renowned man of God. Earlier reports also claimed he has been pursuing a music career under the name Dee Wills.
Prior to his arrest, he has been streaming live on Instagram sharing shocking information about himself and his family in the process.
Also in a series of tweets, he accused his father of “brainwashing him and his siblings to believe that their mother is a witch”, among other issues.
His brother, Joe Duncan-Williams, at a point, reached out to him in one of his live sessions to advise him to get off social media, but he didn’t listen to him.
He was streaming live on his Instagram account when police officers arrested him on the request of his family and explained they were taking him to the hospital for mental evaluation.
