Minister and his team responding to the media after the inspection at Dunkwa On Offins
Youth and Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah left the Dunkwa On Offin multi purpose sports complex satisfactorily after inspecting the facility in the Central Region yesterday.
Notwithstanding the progress of work at the site, he has urged the contractor to up his ‘game’.
To the Minister, the progress of work- erection of the four sitting stands shows how committed and loyal the NPP administration is regarding promises.
“I am glad to say that the progress of work and what we are witnessing here today negates the assertion by chief of this place that previous governments promised them yet failed to honour their words since the 70s.”
He added “President Akufo-Addo has not disappointed, the NYA boss is committed, payments to contractors have been prompt. Work is satisfactory.”
National Youth Authority CEO, Emmanuel Asigri also expressed satisfaction about the progress of work and denied allegations of delay of payment to contractors.
The facility houses a standard football pitch, tartan tracks, volleyball and basketball courts, ICT/ counselling centres, washrooms and a restaurant.
The Dunkwa multipurpose sports complex is the fourth of the ten facilities the minister and his team (NYA) have inspected after the Volta, Eastern and Western Region facilities.
He is expected to inspect the Ashanti Region facility on Monday.
