A tourism forum for buying, selling, networking, demonstrating and sampling of products dubbed ‘Dwapa’ will open at the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre in Accra from November 28 to December 4.
The event which is anticipated to bring back Ghana’s lost expo-culture at the Ghana Trade Fair Centre will take place at 10:00am to 8:00pm each day to promote made-in-Ghana goods and business innovation.
The fair will comprise of the exhibition of primary and secondary products/goods and services. Other targeted exhibitors will be contractors, industries, farmers, hoteliers, researchers and research institutes, manufacturers, products, associations, among others.
It will also be attended by ministers of state, policymakers, opinion leaders, decision makers and the general public.
‘Dwapa’ which literally means ‘perfect marketing’ is not just about exhibition, as it will run concurrent workshops on labelling and packaging for export, as well seminars on export financing, investment opportunities and more.
There will also be a fashion show with locally-made dresses, as well as a musical concert for visitors and exhibitors.
“Trade fairs used to be efficient tool for marketing our nation since 1966 when fathers in those days built the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre for us, at La in Accra knowing what it could do for national economy. However, at this day and age that we need it most, it is now dilapidated and dormant, which we need as a nation to revive,” event strategist, Bona Addo, explained the rationale behind introducing ‘Dwapa’ trade fair.
Fairs serve as direct medium to interact with product associates that is explaining and exposing the benefits of products. ‘Dwapa’ aims to help unearth hidden potentials of Ghana, among other important benefits.
“It is in this light that ‘Dwapa Trade &Tourism’ has been introduced…The uniqueness of ‘Dwapa’ is that it has been made to always coincide with the National Farmers’ Day to help promote farmers and farming,” Bona added.
