Earth Tremor In Accra

Parts of Accra yesterday experienced an earth tremor which lasted a few seconds.

At Amasaman, one of the areas which experienced the seismic occurrence, residents only knew a tremor had occurred after it was over.

Many realised there was an earth tremor when others narrated their experience.

Although experts at the Ghana Geological Survey Authority are yet to issue a statement which would contain a measurement as it is the standard on the Richter Scale, all residents can say is that there was a seismic occurrence.

The tremor occurred around 7:20 am yesterday when many were at home.

Around Weija, a place known to be lying on the path of a seismic line, many residents panicked with some rushing out of the comfort of their homes.

Residents around Mallam, Gbawe, SCC and Bortianor also reported experiencing the earth tremor Sunday morning.

There are no reports of any injuries or damage to property. However, several people who experienced the earth tremor took to social media page X, formerly Twitter, to share their experiences.
