Eastern Patriots Eulogises Nana’s Cocoa Price Increment

The Eastern Patriots, a group affiliated with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Eastern Region has eulogies President Akufo-Addo for his recent decision to increase cocoa price purchase per bag from GH¢800 to GH¢1,308 in the new cocoa season.

The group commended the President for his dedication to sustainable growth and well-being of Ghana’s vital cocoa industry which over the years under his administration has seen some level of improvement.

In a statement signed by the conveners, Daniel Obeng Acquah and Samuel Osene-Akwah, it indicated that, “Under President Akufo-Addo’s visionary leadership Ghana has witnessed remarkable progress in various sectors, and the agricultural sector has not been left out.

The cutting, replacing of old cocoa trees, the registration of farmers onto the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) which is currently ongoing and expected to register 1.5 million farmers”.

“The recent price increment all shows the President’s commitment to uplifting the livelihoods of hardworking farmers whose services have been phenomenal to the development of the nation.

The group extended appreciation to the Agric Minister and MP for Abetifi, Bryan Acheampong for his relentless effort to drive positive change in the agricultural sector.

They pledged their unwavering commitment to the vision and policy of the president, saying, “We are committed to working hand in hand with the government in the pursuit of a prosperous and equitable Ghana and also admonished farmers to take advantage of the Phase II of the government flagship programme planting for foods and job”.
