The Pastors’ Wives’ Association of Christian Faith Church International has donated essential items to the Paediatrics Department of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi to show love and care to the children.
The items donated included 15 gallons of liquid soap, 15 gallons of parazone, two buckets of washing powder, a dozen of sanitizer, four packs of software diapers, 21 packs of toilet rolls, two packs of tissue wipes, 12 bed sheets, cartons of bottled water and bar soaps.
Speaking in an interview, President of the Association, Mrs. Annie Asante explained that the pastors’ wives decided to make the donation following the successful conclusion of their annual retreat.
“As mothers, we believe it is our responsibility to extend God’s love beyond the church and give back to society”, she noted.
She indicated that the association undertook a similar project at a children’s home two years ago, adding “this year, we are grateful to God for the opportunity to reach out to children in the hospital”.
Mrs. Asante expressed her appreciation to the Presiding Bishop of the church, Bishop Emmanuel Botwey and his wife, Mrs. Mercy Botwey for supporting the cause.
Michael Danso, Administrator of the hospital and Grace Kenya, Chief Nursing Officer, expressed their appreciation to the women and urged other institutions and groups to emulate their kind gesture, which would go a long way to support the unit.
