Socialite and influencer Efia Odo has predicted that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will emerge victorious in Ghana’s upcoming general elections.
In a bold tweet on X, Efia Odo declared, “The next President of Ghana is Bawumia. Bookmark this tweet, and give praises to God after the election. It is the doing of the Lord.”
The statement has ignited widespread debate on social media, with supporters of various political factions expressing mixed reactions.
While some applauded her confidence, others accused her of being influenced financially to favour the NPP.
Efia Odo has strongly refuted such claims, clarifying that her remarks were a personal prediction and not an endorsement. Responding to the criticism, she stated, “I didn’t say I’m voting for Bawumia; I said he’s winning the election. Even if I tweeted Mahama or Cheddar is winning, you would’ve said I’ve taken a bribe.”
Her comments come as Ghana prepares for a highly anticipated election season, with Dr Bawumia and other candidates, including former President John Dramani Mahama, vying for the presidency.
