Emerging Music Awards Nominees List Out

Kusstar Entertainment, organisers of the Emerging Music Awards (EMA), has officially released the nominees list and categories for this year’s edition of the awards.

The second edition of awards will be held virtually on November 14 and broadcast via EMA social media platforms.

The EMA is the only musical awards scheme that honours and celebrates all emerging musicians in the music industry.

The winners in the various categories, according to the organisers, will be determined through three key processes—the awards board, the awards academy board and the general public.

The voting is 40 per cent for the board, 20 per cent for the academy and 40 per cent for the general public, with the exception of the popular song of the year category, which constitutes 80 per cent public voting and 20 per cent board voting.

Some of the categories include gospel song of the year, hip-pop song of the year, dancehall song of the year, hiplife song of the year, hiplife song of the year, reggae song of the year, Afro-pop song of the year, rapper of the year, female vocalist of the year, male vocalist of the year and a host of others.

Righteous Vandyke, Stonegyal, Shatta Berry and Calista have been nominated for young artiste of the year whilst Mikey Benzy, O’baya, Teflon Flexx, Lazzybwoy, Gab Tuu, Mani Mandela, Xupa, Khid Vybz and Iona have been nominated for Afro-pop artiste of the year.

Boy Tee, Aboatea Kwasi, Akwasi Reaction, Lb Erazy, Dhope Kidd, Lokal, Erny, Nukre, U2J, Rany Dope Songz and King Jerry also received nominations for hiplife artiste of the year.

 

Highlife artiste of the year nominations include Naf Kassi, King Mondo, Efe Keyz, Ekow Marvel, Lution GH, Koo Kyei, Lyzzy Bae, Abochi, Naana Blu and Gyakie.

Dancehall artiste of the year nominations are B Bancy, Chuku Lion, Gyaldem Tish, iKofi, Euni Melo, Kophi Mystro, Kiaani, Trigger A, Renner, Larusso and a host of others.
