Pastor Gideon Danso in a post with the children
Empowerment Care Foundation, a non-profit humanitarian organisation, founded by the Empowerment Worship Center has organised its 2024 Life Check programme to provide free medical checks and educational support to residents of Teshie Camp 2.
The residents were registered onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) after they underwent basic health screening. Children were also given educational materials including school bags.
Head pastor of Empowerment Worship Center, Gideon Danso speaking at the event which marked the 10th anniversary of Life Check said the inspiration is to touch the lives of people who desperately need help.
He cited the biblical word saying, “He that gives to the poor lends to God, so as we give to the poor, God will supply us the blessing and the strength we need”.
According to him, Life Check is focused on three major things; to bring the word of God to the people, bring education to the people, and health to the people.
“Our lives are all changed by God and we are where we are because of God, He has been good to us and God can pick you from nowhere, and place you wherever he wants to put you,” he emphasised.
Pastor Danso revealed that based on their records, last year, 12,000 were touched and transformed, so this year, their target is to touch 15,000 lives.
He stated that, the 10 years of life transformation initiative has seen people with smiles, indicating that, it’s such a special feeling to see people smile with just something little you give them.
A beneficiary, Gifty Mensah, showed appreciation to the Empowerment Care Foundation for the lives they have transformed and the smiles they have put on their faces.
She added that the school bags, school shoes and other educational items donated to their children will improve their love for going to school always.
