EMY Africa Ready For MOTY Party

Carbon AV, organisers of the EMY Africa Awards, are ready for this year’s Man of the Year (MOTY) Party, set for Sunday, November 8, 2026, at the Labadi Beach Hotel.

The MOTY Party is the official pre-awards celebration for the EMY Africa Awards, which will take place on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre.

It gathers all the award nominees, honourees, past winners, sponsors, partners and the top echelons in society to celebrate ahead of the main awards.

There is already a palpable buzz in the air. On social media, nominees, past winners, celebrities and fans have been counting down to the night, sharing flyers, outfit ideas and throwback clips from previous editions.

The party has become more than a warm-up to the awards, it is now a major event on its own in Accra’s entertainment calendar, known for bringing together Ghana and Africa’s biggest names in business, music, film, fashion and sports under one roof for one night of pure celebration.

This year’s night is themed “Denim & Spice”, with guests expected to look the part. The concept is simple but bold: start with denim, then add your own spice. Organisers want guests to ditch the usual black-tie formality for a more relaxed, playful and fashion-forward look, denim jackets, jeans, corsets, blazers and jumpsuits, styled with bold accessories, colour, attitude and confidence.

In a post announcing the event, the organisers said: “This Sunday, bring your best denim, we’ll bring the heat.”

The night will also witness some of Africa’s finest DJs on rotation, including DJ Faculty, DJ Loft, DJ Mish, DJ Phantom, Selekta Shaker and DJ Dennys, all bringing the hits.

Eddy Acquah will be on mic control, with the “Energy God” Kojo Manuel bringing the hype.

From the promotional clips, guests can expect a high-energy nightclub atmosphere, disco balls, colourful stage lighting, champagne service, fire dancers, costumed performers and non-stop dancing.

Previous MOTY parties have become legendary for their star power and electric atmosphere. The party has had some of Ghana’s biggest names converged, including Ibrahim Mahama, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, Nana Ama McBrown, Bola Ray, KOD, McDan, Cheddar, Adjetey Anang, Nana Aba Anamoah and Elikem Kumordzie, for what was described as one of Ghana’s largest gatherings of successful industry players.
