Ex-Convict Stabbed To Death

 

A 43-year-old ex-convict and a resident of Sekondi, Kojo Asiedu has allegedly been stabbed to death.

According to sources, Asiedu met his untimely death when he was stabbed multiple times after an argument ensued between him and a lady over a mobile phone.

The suspect who was only identified as Malor and lived in the same area with the deceased, is said to have committed the crime out of anger, after which he bolted.

A relative of the deceased, Emmanuel Arthur indicated that, the lady, believed to be the girlfriend of the suspect, borrowed the deceased person’s mobile phone to make a call.

“The information I have is that my brother, who is the deceased, gave out his phone to the lady who is the girlfriend of the suspect to make a call”.

He indicated that after making the call, the lady handed over the phone to his late brother who may have dropped it on his way home because was a bit drunk.

“But when Asiedu got to the house he forgot where exactly he had left the phone and went back to the lady for his phone”.

“The lady insisted she gave the mobile phone back to Asiedu but he denied taking the phone back and in the process, an argument ensued”.

Mr. Arthur noted that from nowhere, the lady’s boyfriend and the suspect came around with a knife and stabbed Asiedu multiple times.

He added that his brother was quickly rushed to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital for treatment but died later.

“We have deposited his body at the private morgue at Funkoe, near Takoradi and reported the case to the Police for investigations but the suspect is currently at large”.

“We have been looking for him since the incident happened on Sunday but he is nowhere to be found,” he added.

Meanwhile, some residents in the area have, however asserted that the two guys were fighting over the lady and that caused the untimely death of Asiedu.
