FBN Bank Ghana Limited, one of the universal banks operating in the country, has rewarded 10 of its loyal customers as part of its “Save and win Promo”.
The draw, the second in its edition, was held at the bank’s branch off the Spintex Road, Accra.
The draw was supervised by Ekow Nkoom from the National Lottery Authority (NLA).
The lucky winners, who each won GH¢100.00 worth of airtime, were Amankwah Agnes (Santa Maria Branch); Samuel Owusu (Ring Road Branch); Kwofie Benjamin (Dansoman); Baya Isaac (Takoradi Branch), Amankwa Boahin Vera (Dansoman Branch), Ocloo Vida (Makola Branch) and Nancy Quarm.
Customers who were drawn to win Samsung smartphones included Seidu Adams (Swedru Branch); Tetteh Vera (Santa Maria Branch) and Sowah Benjamin (Korle Bu Branch).
During the 1st mini draw held on 10th July 2018 at the bank’s Makola branch, 10 customers that have accounts at the bank’s branches at Santa Maria, Tema, Makola, Kaneshie, Suame, Kasoa and Techiman
and fully met the terms and conditions of the promo were selected as winners.
They were presented with their prizes during the draw.
In his remarks, Gbenga Odeyemi, the Managing Director of FBN Bank Ghana, explained that the ‘Save and Win’ promo was introduced last year to reward the bank’s valued customers for their loyalty to the bank.
Mr Odeyemi, in a speech read on his behalf by Eric Kwasi Fia, the Group Head, Retail Banking, said in this year’s edition, the bank will be rewarding a total 30 customers in three separate draws – two mini draws and the grand draw in August. In the grand draw in August, customers stand the chance of winning refrigerators, LED television sets, washing machines, gas cookers, laptops, tablet computers and smart phones.
To qualify for the promotion, customers ought to deposit an amount of GH?200 or multiples into existing or new FBN Bank savings or current accounts.
Every GH?200 deposit earns a customer one point.
However, all customers who had a minimum balance of GH?1,000 in their accounts at the start of the promotion will get one point for every GH?1,000 as advance points up to a maximum of 10 points.
The advance points are earned only on incremental basis as long as a customer’s deposits remain in the account during the promotion period.
Customers are required to maintain a minimum of GH?1,000 in their individual current or savings accounts to be able to participate in the three-monthly draws and the grand draw.
“We are committed to putting our esteemed customers and stakeholders at the heart of our business. We seek creative and innovative ways to serve them better and aim at delivering to them reliable, secure and convenient payment options with cost-saving benefits,” Mr Odeyemi said.
Minimum capital requirement
The Bank of Ghana, the regulator of the banking sector, has set December this year for all universal banks in the country to meet a minimum capital requirement of GH?400 million.
However, according to the FBN Bank MD, the bank is well on its way to meet the capital requirement ahead of schedule.
“On this note, I would like to assure you that FBNBank Ghana Limited has resolved to meet the Bank of Ghana’s new minimum capital requirement for banks operating in the country before the stated deadline of 31st December, 2018,” Mr Odeyemi added.
“While at it, we are also leaving no stone unturned to deliver solution-based value additions to our products and services to meet your needs and we would soon announce these to you,” he added.
