First National Bank Ghana has introduced Investment Gift Cards, a new gifting solution designed to enable Ghanaians to celebrate important occasions while helping recipients build long-term financial wealth.
The bank said the product was developed to transform traditional gift-giving into an opportunity for saving and investment, which will allow recipients to benefit from potential growth in the value of their gifts over time.
As part of activities to promote the product, First National Bank Ghana partnered with two popular radio programmes, The Drive on Joy FM and Brunch in the Citi on Citi FM. Listeners participated in educational quizzes focused on gifting, investment and how the Investment Gift Cards work.
The Head of Retail Banking at First National Bank Ghana, Akweley Laryea, said the product was conceived to help people give gifts that could have a lasting financial impact.
“The result is the First National Bank Investment Gift Card, a meaningful innovation that allows people to invest in the future of those they care about,” she said.
Unlike conventional gifts that can depreciate in value or lose their usefulness over time, the Investment Gift Card gives recipients an opportunity to invest the gift and potentially grow its value.
According to the bank, the cards are suitable for a range of occasions, including birthdays, weddings, bridal and baby showers, graduations, anniversaries, employee recognition, religious celebrations and other significant milestones.
They can also be given to family members, friends, colleagues, students, newly married couples or parents celebrating the birth of a child.
It said the Investment Gift Cards are available in denominations of GH¢2,000, GH¢5,000 and GH¢10,000, offering purchasers flexibility to select an amount based on their budget.
First National Bank Ghana said both its customers and non-customers could purchase or receive the cards, broadening access to the product.
Ms. Laryea said the initiative reflected the bank’s commitment to financial innovation and wealth creation.
“As Ghana continues to embrace financial innovation, First National Bank Ghana remains committed to creating products that help individuals, families and communities build sustainable wealth for generations,” she said.
