Flags Fly At Half-Mast In Honour Of Former First Lady

 

Ghana mourns the loss of former First Lady Theresa Kufuor, who passed away on October 1, 2023.

In honour of her life, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has instructed that all flags across the nation and in Ghana’s missions abroad should fly at half-mast.

According to a statement from the Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the instruction will begin from Monday, October 2nd, and end on Sunday, October 8th.

Mrs Kufuor, the wife of former President John Agyekum Kufuor, was described as an invaluable and constant source of advice to her husband during his tenure as President of Ghana.

She lived a life of compassion, unwavering dedication, and selfless service to the people of Ghana.

The statement extended heartfelt condolences to former President Kufuor and his family.

The country collectively mourns the loss of a remarkable woman who touched the hearts of many. During her time as First Lady, Mrs Kufuor championed many causes and worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Ghanaians.

As the nation marks her passing, Ghanaians remember Mrs. Kufuor with fondness and gratitude for her exceptional life of service to the people.
